More About Mark Thomet
In the beginning, there was water
My name is Mark. I started swimming at SC Dynamo Berlin when I was 6 years old. I was supported in competitive sports until I was a teenager. From today's perspective, a successful start.
After finishing school, I turned to running. Since I've become increasingly interested in marathon and ultra distances over the years, my training volume has increased accordingly.
I integrated additional racing bike units into my training to add more variety to my daily training routine. From there, it was ultimately a logical step to rediscover my old love of swimming and turn to triathlon.
I am at home in middle and long-distance triathlons and have recently qualified twice for the Ironman 70.3 World Championships. But beyond that, I'm always looking for new sporting challenges, for example, Everesting by bike or ultra-distance competitions in individual disciplines.
Triathlon and daily training are a large and essential part of my life, and even outside of my everyday training as an active triathlete, our sport is my constant companion.
„Some people dream of success. While others wake up and work hard at it.“
Marcel has been my coach for years and has accompanied me on my sporting journey. As an athlete, the SBRC methodology convinced me. Since this year, Marcel and I have formed a coaching team.
As a licensed trainer in competitive sports, I support athletes of all ages in achieving their sporting goals. I need to offer comprehensive support, as triathlon is not just a combination of the three sports of swimming, cycling, and running. Strength endurance, stability, flexibility and mental fitness, optimal nutrition, and effective regeneration are other aspects that play an important role in the life of a triathlete - and, of course, the love of the sport.
